I am attempting to create a contact sheet for my students and would like to place their pictures within the Grid area. I know that I can insert images into the HTML area, but I am wondering how to specify a "Picture" type field.
Any ideas?

What you want may be this:

or this:

But neither of these are implemented at the moment...

In the meantime, you could:
  1. Create a Top level item (TLI)
  2. Ensure View >> Show Pictures is checked
  3. Drag-drop an image file onto a grid, as a sub-item to the TLI. In the dialog :
    1. Select No hyperlink
    2. Select Saved to File link fields
  4. In your grid, add / create columns for the other contact info (name, email, etc)
n.b. Currently, images are shown in the item only if it is a sub-item. I need to fix this.

Thanks for the reply, Pierre.

Yes, your screenshots display exactly what I was hoping to do.

I haven't found this feature in Mantis yet. Are you planning on adding a "Picture" type field, in order to replicate your screenshots above? Thanks for your efforts. Glen >> n.b. Hi Glen,

Would you want to embed the picture (in the database) or a link to a picture file would do ? (second is easier to do at the moment)

I'd love to see image field with link to picture for other application (an inventory view with my framed photos , dimensions, price, where displayed, etc. and thumbnail of the image.

You know about the built-in image viewer don't you ? You'd like to see the image right in the grid and not in another window ?

Yes -

I'd love something like the 2nd example you posted (the one after the card view).  Where I could see title, dimensions, price, & thumbnail of my finished work.  I have problem remembering which titles go with which pieces especially for some of the western theme stuff.
