Every time I exit InfoQube, Dr Watson pops up, implying that the program didn't close down properly. This has been occuring in the portable version. I've tried 0.9.24 Pre-Rel 4 and 6 and it occured in both. I am using Windows XP SP3.

Please try the following:
  1. Close the HTML pane
  2. Close IQ. You may get the error message
  3. Re-open IQ
  4. Close IQ. Do you get the message? If no, it is likely a small issue with IE not shutting down correctly. I've seen this before and various IE updates have caused this, then fixed this, etc.

You are probably right. After step 4 I didn't get the message. Is there something I can do to keep IE ok? (And A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!)

I should add that IE windows seem to work fine in other apps that use it.

I must be doing something wrong (or not doing something) when closing the application.

I'll try to explicitely unload the HTML pane, wait a while and close for real. As I do not have the problem on my machines currently (I have seen it, but it "went away" on a Windows update), I cannot test it, other can...

In version 0.9.24 pre-rel 7, I attempt to let the HTML pane close first and then shut down. Please report if the issue is now fixed.

Is this still a problem or is fixed ?

Happens 100% on one machine (XP SP2) running IE8. Closing HTML window prior to exit doesn't seem to make a difference.
Contetnts of MS error report is:
AppName: sqlnotes.exe AppVer: 0.9.0.24 ModName: mshtml.dll
ModVer: 8.0.6001.18702 Offset: 001cf3d4

Doesn't happen on a different machine running XP SP2 with IE7 (same version of IQ).

This started happening to me too (IE7, XP SP2) and googling I found that doing:

- Tools > Internet options > Advanced > Reset

Solved the issue.

The issue was finally identified and resolved. No need to clear IE setting. Fixed in 0.9.24C
