I was writing up -- link to nonexistent node ID 1724 -- and came across some (minor) focusing problems when using F11 to 'float' the html pane:
I quote and highlight the problem points
When the HTML Pane has focus (with the cursor blinking), F11 will detach it from the main window. [This can also be achieved by double-clicking on the titlebar.] (1) Currently it sometimes loses focus at this stage - if so, you will have to click within the pane in order to start adding text (even if you press F12 first). As a floating pane it can be repositioned and resized.
~ Pressing F11 again when the HTML pane has focus will dock the pane again.
~ Pressing F11 again when the Grid has focus will, as said above, AutoHide the pane (and the properties pane) - and then display it again (i.e. it toggles).
Currently: there seems to be a glitch if you fully close the HTML pane when it is a floating pane. Shift+F12 reopens the pane (sometimes without focus) but not in a ready to go state. F12 can bring focus back to the pane, but the focus is not within the pane - i.e. you always still have to click in the pane if you want to start adding content.
the main problem is that, at times, the HTML Pane loses focus - pressing F12 will bring the focus back to the pane but not within the pane - i.e. you still need to click within the pane to add content.
This happens:
about 50% of the time on using F11 to 'float' the pane
100% of the time (here, so far) on reopening the pane after fully closing the pane while it is in a floating state
I do use the F11 feature but have gotten used to the way it works
Am I understanding the use of the keys properly?
Can you confirm?
