I've followed directions which have not fixed my problem.

Problem: how new HTML doc can be set for the font & font size I want instead of the default.
Attached zipped folder contains the following elements

png #1, directory / folder / file selected to alter, i.e. 'new_html'
png #2, contents of above file altered as instructed (I think)
video, content of view html code in IQ HTML pane (doesn't reflect changes)

Now what?

Hi Jan, I can't see your attached zip.
As you know, a mantis issue has been created so that these things can be changed from the options dialog or something.
If you attach your zip, I'll probably be able to tell you what's going on.

P.S. : I tried the steps I outlined for you last time and they work. (But who told you it's not a bug, though ?)

Yeah, it would probably help if I uploaded the damned file so you could see it. Just further  for me. I was told it was not a bug essentially because there is a way to solve the problem...... except I can't seem to make it work for me.  Probably another drug related issue  but I can't figure it out.

I'll open a thread on the bug/workaround matter.

Now, assuming you want help to fix that problem, while waiting for the mantis issue to be resolved.

I think you're not modifying the right file. You need to modify the *\Users\YourName\NewHTML.HTM not the one in appFiles.

1- close IQ
2- modify the HTM  file
3- start IQ

I don't have the time to try it again now but tell me how it goes

P.S. I posted a description of what you need to do there too a while ago : Ability to set html font selection & size via options

Yes, I know Armando. I read your excellent instructions & you would think it would be a no brainer. I checked that file (user/my name) just to make sure I wasn't crazy & I had already changed that before which I think -- but I'm not sure -- I mentioned in my first thread on this subject that may have prompted your instructions. I decided to try the the appFiles one just to see if that would make a difference.

I decided to search my entire drive to see if there were conflicting "newHTM" files & discovered there were several others on my HD from earlier installations. I've deleted all of those & made sure the one in the correct folder is correctly altered. I'm still getting the same result. So now -- where else could IQ be finding this template? This is frustrating me.

Hi Pierre, i think we need an option to change that in IQ without having to modify the NewHTM file.
This a simple thing that would make a difference.

In the mean time, Jan, just tell me what font and size you want and I'll post the modified file here and tell you where to put it.

I you want (it would make things easier) you could also post a screencast of your IQ folder, showing the path and the newHTM file.

QUESTION :

- When you open your newHTM file with note pad, are the changes you made still there ?

OK. So, providing the fact that this is the IQ you're actually using (portable?) the file you need to modify is the one in C:\Program Files\InfoQube\Users\Jan.

1- I shut down IQ
2- Copied your file in my own directory : C:\...\InfoQube\Users\Armando
3- Restarted IQ
And it worked : I have the courrier New font, etc. as you set it.

So my hypothesis is that you have more than one IQ and the one running isn't the one where you made the changes. If that's the case, I would get rid of other IQ's installation. (Maybe zip them, in case you realize later that you lost something)

OR, you made the modification in your windows user folder, which has nothing to do with the IQ user folder (well, in the case of the portable version... I forgot about where the IQ user config go when it'S installed).
