Using 9.2.4 Pre Release 7
 
Cannot use either Ctrl-A or Edit -> Select All to select all items in Grid

It works fine here, can you provide detailed steps?
 
note: the shortcut is Alt-A, not Ctrl-A

OK -
 
First Alt-A works but this is not windows standard. 
 
If I use menu and do the following steps Edit -> Select All nothing is selected
 
Also the Edit menu says that the shortcut is Ctrl-A

For some reason, which I forgot, I thought it would be good to separate Edit > Select All from Item > Select All items. The first one selects the whole text (when editing), the other selects all items
 
It seems to me, now, that these could be unified.
 
Any thoughts on this?

It did not occur to me that the select was on text within the item.  Since I use the Grid pane as an outliner so would not usually have multiple lines of text needing select all text within an item so I think I'd prefer that select all selected all items.
