Copy item from grid 1 XML format
Paste item dialog only provides the following 3 options

1. CreATE NEW ITEMS & PUT THEM IN THIS GRID
2. PUT THE ITEMS IN THIS GRID, I.E. DOES NOT CREATE NEW ITEMS, SIMPLY ADD THE ITEMS TO THIS GRID
3. CANCEL

item in grid 1 has link attached to it via <CTRL>K

I'm sorry I thought it was obvious...

Shouldn't I be seeing more options like:

paste as link under current parent
paste as new item under current parent
etc

First I'm not seeing what I thought was a dialog w complete set of options & I am getting error msgs (Field cannot be updated)  on the status line when I tried to paste in any form

If I'm note mistaken, the reason why you see only these options is that there are not other options available. Focus is probably not under a parent, so it can't
paste as link under current parent
paste as new item under current parent
etc
Hence, the only option is to paste as a TLI in the grid. But put the focus under a parent, and you'll see the other options appear.

However, among  the suggestions I left on the backburner, there's one concerning addind maybe one or 2 other options to the dialog. I'm a ffraid it would make it more complicated though...:
paste as a child of selected item, as New item...
-  [same as above], as Links...

Then, the other options could be :

paste as a sibling of selected item, as New item...
-  [same as above], as Links...

I think this would allow more freedom, and avoid having 2 different dialog content when pasting as TLI /Pasting as child.

Pierre ? Opinions ?
