Yes, I think that this would be more helpful. The panes are easy enough to shrink etc. But split the grid space, position the panes, the gantt, the toolbars... That is a bit long. So, in fact, IMO, everything should be saved : toolbar positions, grids, panes, gantt, etc. That way, a user can really set completely different workspaces for different tasks.

it would be very helpful !
I close IQ reasonably regularly so as it can backup properly to dropbox - each restart involves setting up dual pane with a bunch of tabs etc.

Why not put the backup folder in Dropbox, that way automatic backups and/or manual ones get synched without the need to close the current database.

well my IQ auto-backups are timestamped and tend to take up a lot of space. If you want to keep within Dropbox's free quota it's easiest to simply backup the database. It then has multiple revision versions, in theory at any rate.
Am I correct in thinking that currently nothing can copy the IQbase while it's in use?
[quote=Pierre_Admin]I'm also planning to make changes so that the IQBase is no longer locked by the application all the time. 2 possibilities:
Add a lock feature: IQ would blank out and request a password to resume, when locked, the IQBase would be free to sync
Add a unlock IQBase feature: it would remain unlocked until a database I/O is required

Sounds good,
I dont fully understand #2 (does that mean it would then lock automatically?) but I think I wouldnt mind either way
