How do I add text to a text field in the properties pane using the keyboard only ?

Scenario:

I want to add text to the beginning of the text field in the properties pane.

The text field has some content already. I press F2 to edit, text is selected -

pressing any arrow key - or the home or end keys - bring you to the previous or the next field. I dont see any other way of getting to the beginning of that text.

In fact, there doesnt seem to be any way to add text at all without erasing the selected content unless you do a mouse-click

is there any other route other than resorting to a mouse-click ?

Pierre : a related problem : it would be great if all drop downs could be triggered by F2 too. Many drop downs are not usable unless you use the mouse.

in the properties pane:

It seems that all drop-down fields work with the left or right arrows - I mean they then popup or drop-down or whatever

A disadvantage of this is that if you want to modify an existing field entry you are unable to use those keys.

All drop down worked with F2 except fixed lists. I've updated to support this editor.

yes, pre-rel30 includes everything that I initially wrote as 0.9.25

In field management when settings are :

... there's no drop-down menu when I press F2 in the properties pane or the grid.

OK, this is fixed in 0.9.25
