Is this possible now? Example, <Enter> adds item below selected item. Maybe <ctrll><shft> could add item above selected item

Use for this for me is as follows:

Inbox, is essentially clearing house for all data incoming to IQ. I have it sorted on item create date so most current is at top of list rather than at bottom.  Thx

It is not possible now. It is a 2 step operation:
  1. Enter to create new item
  2. ALT+Up Arrow to move the item up

Can it be added to the wish list; it can't be that big a deal.  Easy for me to say.

Done! Shift-Enter now adds an item above the current item (avail in next release)

will that not clash sometimes with shift+enter to move to new line when editing text in cell
using mouse anyway:- cause if you click on an item field it goes straight into edit mode

No, as the Shift-Enter to create an item above, is enabled when not editing

sorry, I wasnt so clear:-

for mouse users,
say I want new item above top item in grid - if I click in the top item field, it goes straight into edit mode
I now have to press F2 to get out of edit mode and then press Shift+Enter

While Shift+Enter is a very nice combo to use my point is:
wouldnt it be better to have a shortcut that would also work when in edit mode - as Enter and Ctrl+Enter work

Not a big-deal obviously,
just as I say that it would be nice if it worked as well as the other two shortcuts.
e.g Ctrl+Alt+Enter is available I think - using right Alt key for Ctrl+Alt it would be easy to use as well ...

or Jan has elsewhere suggested
Control+Shift+UpArrow
which would be easy to use [& logical] if available

Pierre, I think you've just set a world record for suggestion-to-implementation. Whatever the combo ends up being, thanks for 'listening'.
