When I paste a web page into the html pane, the links are dead unless I switch to browser mode.  After switching to browser mode, I can follow a link, but the browser is slow and a bit klunky, especially when trying to get back to the original page.
It would be much nicer to have the links work without switching modes.  I have a preferred (default) browser, and if the links opened in that, it would be great.  Then a function to edit the links would be in order.

Thanks.

Jack

Yeah, those are all good suggestions. I'll tag this post as Feature:Request.

I'm not sure that I follow you about the slow and klunky parts, as it is simply IE running...

When clicking a link on the pasted page, it takes a long time to see anything happen, and it seems to be impossible to get back to that page with the back arrow.  You have to switch back to the standard mode to see it.

Thanks, Jack

OK I see. Close and re-open IQ should get you back on track. I'll find a more appropriate solution...

ive closed and reopened IQ and nothing changed...

just thought that you might know that when i create a new item and in this new item the "editor mode" is working but to my previously created items, before ive clicked the "browse mode", isnt. that means that all my html notes are in "browse mode" except the new one.

p.s.: i am using the portable version...

im not sure that i was clear...
thankx for the help and interest....

You may have saved your content in MHT format... If so, you must use an external editor MSWord or free BlockNote. A built-in MHT editor is planned. Use the default HTML format instead

i am aware of that... i mean when i clip something from the browser i just save then in the HTML format as you said. for instance the entire manual that came with IQ i cannot edit it because im in the browse mode, like i said

i just tried to replace (with the default) the executable file (sqlnotes.exe) and nothing changed, so i thought that might be some configuration. i just looked in the ini files but didnt find anything. theres the bat files but i dont know what it is... or maybe is hard coded...

I suggest that if you can have the HTML pane in edit mode (new or old items), then simply re-enable the menu (right-click > menu > view > menu)

that's great Pierre

taking it one step further - would it be possible to specify path of browser in which to open it so I can use browser of my choice
-
it would even be nice to be able to have an "open with" option like with file links - but not sure how many would be interested in that !

Or even a step further: will is it contemplated that a browser window could open within an IQ view similar to the calendar view.
