I copied 7 to a card & tried to install on my notebook w/o luck
I copied & installed it on the main drive w/o luck
 
What happens is that splash screen comes up but program doesn't open

This has been reported before. It seems that some netbooks don't have a full XP installed. One user found that letting a few weeks go by, the Windows Update will transparently install the missing DLLs and it runs fine after that... Perhaps you'd like to report back in a little while. If I get the time, and if you're willing to try out a few things, I can send you small installers for the "normal" Windows components and see when it fixes it. Alternatively, I can send you the complete list of all references and you can check which one is missing

This is not a priority for me @ the moment, Pierre, so I will first see if there are any updates for my system either via a hotspot or re-directing my modem to the notebook.  After that, it might be interesting to see exactly what it is that causes this problem so sending me the small installers might be the way to go (saves a step).  Thanks for your support.
