I have just downloaded 25i and now find that the web links no longer work in Infoqube. They show up in the html pane in blue just as before. When I hover over the link the cursor shows as usual. If I press click the cursor turns to a little hand - just as it used to.
However, when I click on the link I get a message saying Windows can't open this file ... what do you want to do? Use the web service to find,,,, Select a program from a list of installed programs (which doesn't even show firefox (my longtime default browser).
In all the previous versions I have downloaded this has never been a problem.
Does anybody know a) why this has now occurred and b) how do I fix it.

Thanks,
David

Here links seem to generally work from the HTML pane... and from the grid too. I checked with both MHT and HTML contents. While I have no problem with all MHT documents, HTML is slightly problematic. 1- If I ctrl-click on a link in a page which shows just HTML content (not an embedded MHT), nothing happens. 2- However, if I switch to browse mode and shift-click on a hyperlink, Firefox opens and shows the new page in a tab. Note that I sometimes had to click 2 times on a link for it to do anything and this seems to be focus related : When the pane looses focus the first click just brings back the focus, and only the second click activates the link. Anyway, there might be a bug, anybody else wants to confirm or explore the mystery ? :)

Thanks Armando,

The fact that I get the "what do you want to open this with" message indicates that the link is recognised and clicking on it begins a process.

The puzzle is: Why has InfoQube suddenly stopped launching Firefox the way it used to?
An hour or so earlier all the links in the html page for the same item in the same grid wereworking in version 25E

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Armando

I really wonder what the problem is. I moved to the latest version too and don'T have this problem. You could try reverting to 25E and see if all is back to normal. If not, maybe it's something else which is unrelated to IQ.

I did revert to 25E and that solved the problem.
Back in 25i I find that the hyperlinks in the item field that are provided with the sample database work fine.
When I cut and paste a web address into the item field and turn it into a hyperlink it turns blue and if I click on it the message is Hyperlink references an unknown field (then gives the pasted web address) but when I click ok it goes ahead and opens the web page.
I haven't played with hyperlinks in the item field at all, so there may be some small setting overlooked that would avoid the error message.
However, when clicking on the blue highlighted links in the HTML pane (they are all the result of web pages or part of them being clipped and pasted into InfoQube - this new problem has arisen, where it just won't recognise Firefox (and even if I choose IE from the programs available) and won't access the web page from the link.

Has anyone else come across this?

In 25i:
yes, links are broken here -
when I Ctrl+Click on a link in the HTML pane (web clipping), I get the sometimes get the "Open With" dialogue asking me to choose a programme - whether in Browse mode or not. I didnt take it any further cause it sould recognise the default browser AFAIK.
Sometimes I get the "windows could not open this file" dialogue asking me to find a programme online.
I did (somehow) get one link to open in FF (my default browser) but I cannot reproduce this.

When in Browse mode, a link  seems to require two clicks before working

I cannot reproduce this in my regular IQ install (XP SP3)

Interesting. What are you guys using : MHT files or plain HTML ?

This is fixed in v0.9.25J.

Thanks for reporting !
