I'm running Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows 7 with Infoqube2/15/2011.  The Firefox Extension no longer brings up the Add New Item dialog when I try and run it (with InfoQube running).

Both the Copy Content and Create Link Extensions working OK here with FF 3.6.13, InfoQube 25K and Win 7.

just confirming that it works here too. What might have happened is that you have opened a 2nd db in a 2nd IQ instance, and then close it ? Sometimes this breaks the link with the plug-in and / or the universal clipper. (I haven't tested that situation enough though to be sure that it happens 100% of times)

Partially working.

Creating a link works!

Copying a web-page, goes to the dialog, but then indicates that it is saving the site but nothing further happens.

I get the fialogue, the web-content is there when I check the item in my inbox

Maybe it depends on the webpages? Can you give us a link to try?

I have had a lot of trouble with capturing webcontent in the last couple of versions myself - I very rarely capture full pages so it was with "Copy [highlighted] content".
Just testing K now, it seems okay with all methods - so far...

My firefox extension is still not working at all. I have just one version of infoqube running (the latest version) and pressing either 'Create Link in Infoqube' or 'Copy Content to Infoqube' does nothing at all.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the extensions twice.

That's weird. I don't know how to help. Unfortunately, I think Pierre is out for the whole week, so we'll have to wait.

It's possible that something's screwed up with my Firefox.  I plan to reinstall my Windows 7 from scratch in about a month or two so we'll see if that makes a difference.

Are you using the Installable or Portable flavors of IQ ? Most users are using the Portable one, so if you're not, it is worth a try...

I've had some problems too actually. Today I clipped a lot of material using the firefox extension, and almost half of what I clipped didn't appear in the IQ DB. I didn't have the time to try to figure out why this happens. (Note that the universal clipper doesn't have this problem)

I never use the copy full page feature,
but,
I have had the problem again a few times of selected text not being copied (and I not clipping much stuff at the moment) - generally if I do a paste in the new clipping/item html box, it is pasted correctly.
i.e. the selected text is (auto-)copied in FF but not (auto-)pasted in the dialogue box

I do use a clipboard extender whether that's related - next time it happens I'll turn that off and re-try and report

You're talking about the universal clipper here ?
I have a clipboard extender here too, and I have the feeling that some of the problems I have (maybe unrelated to the problem mentioned in this thread) are due to interferences between IQ and it. I  say so because copying also sometimes doesn't  work in other context. I have to press ctrl-c several times, etc.

as for the firefox extension, I don't think it uses the same mechanism. Pierre could tell us.

Sorry, wasnt fully clear - I'm talking about the FF extension:-

when I click on "IQ: Copy Content" in the context menu, it does not copy selected text from the webpage to the clipper dialogue box - but it does copy it to the clipboard
So the clipper/new-item dialogue is filled in, but the html box is empty -
if I click in there and paste, usually that works...

I added a small delay before pasting... perhaps at times, the paste occurs before the HTML editor completes initialisation.

Thanks. Yesterday -- first normal computer day since Tuesday, when I lost my laptop hard drive (!) -- I did a few tests with the "Copy Content" extension. Again, I noticed that it's really 50/50 : once it copies the page , and the other no. I also noticed that disabling my clipboard enhancer solved the problem. Anyhow... Maybe the delay will allow me to still use my clipboard enhancer !
