grid appt -> graphic calendar

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/04/08 19:45
Pierre, is there a time frame on the near horizon when a user will be able to input an appt in a grid & have it appear in the graphic calendar?  And will the user be able to use context in the graphic calendar. I ask because I seem to use my contacts list as a matrix -- everything along the lines of GTD, appts, etc. is input as a contact child so I can easily see my history with that contact.

Synch with External database

Submitted by jdonlan on 2009/04/07 15:47
I'm trying to import / synch data from an internal MySQL database. I've configured a SQLSynch.xml file with  the field mapping and so on but I can't make the connection with the database. I'm currently running with no password to eliminate that as a problem but whatever connection string I try, I end up with a
"Cannot connect to server (Application-defined or object-defined error)"
message box.
I can connect with MySQL Administrator (for example) using the same parameters from the same machine.
I can create a System DSN using the MySQL ODBC driver on this machine using the same parameters.
Is there some way I can get more meaningful error messages from IQ to help troubleshoot this connection?

Import csv issues

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/04/06 10:39
I've read (& I think) followed instructions correctly @ http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/88 however when I import, IQ states it has read x number of items but they never appear in the grid. I'm missing something but I can't figure out what.  This should be a simple import, tel book from another program TIA

Workflow for moving lots of items from inbox onwards ?

Submitted by Tom on 2009/04/06 10:20
I've only started really using the inbox lately so I'm curious about people's workflow for moving stuff from inbox to other grids

I've created a form with most of the grid source (yes/no) fields, also I have a bunch of the more commonly used ones of these displayed in the inbox grid.

The next step seems to me to be how to sort the items in their new grids.
Obviously this depend on how items are organised in grids.
It would be very interesting if people could give a rough idea of how they go about this (the workflow, and, why not, how they organise grids too)

Currently in most grids, I keep all items below TLI's - i.e. I'm grouping items hierarchically (to one level at least).
When I move items from inbox to a grid like this, they are dispersed throughout the grid which is not ideal - here's a made up example

IQBase of the old Forum

Submitted by KeithB on 2009/04/03 22:42
Here's the old forum in .sndb forum.

The setup is very simple--no hierachy.

There may a few duplicates here and there.

It's rather large--after a while, I started deleting the avatars.

I put in all the forums except the "naming" one.

Everything is a MHT file, so get out your Word or Blocknote to edit.

I captured everything, unless there was a totally blank message.
