[FIXED] Manuel Refresh Alters Grid Source Setting (smth to do with sorting on custom field?)

Submitted by lucasd on 2014/07/19 01:20
 Hi All,

I'm getting back into IQ after a very long hiatus, and I'm really enjoying it so far. However, here is one issue that keeps coming up, and I am wondering if others have seen this:

I have a grid, let's call it MyGrid, and the source for the grid is "MyGrid". However, upon doing a manual refresh, the source information switches to undefined, so that all items in the database appear in the grid. Then I have to manually reconfigure the grid info so that the source is only "MyGrid".

Does that explanation make sense? Is it a known issue? I haven't yet pinpointed exactly what the conditions are that lead to this happening, but I'll see what I can figure out.

Thanks,

Lucas

EDIT: See comment below describing how to produce one instance of this behavior.

IQ loops on field defined using SQL SELECT

The background to this post can be found in a very much earlier post, http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/684&page=1 - [node:684,title="Is it a bird or is it a plane"]

All I am seeking to do is to classify items. This is not at all the same thing as categorisation – these days, more popularly known as tagging.

Item links

Is this working right?

1. Select an item that has sub items. Note that I have tried this with the item expanded and collapsed.
2. Copy the selected item (not the second choice that copies the sub items too).
3. Paste the item as a link.

 I have two observations.

1. The pasted item does not appear until I manually refresh the grid. I thought that was a thing of the past. But worse, refreshing the grid collapses everything an I have to find where I was. Auto update is on.

2. The paste operation inserts the sub items too. If this is normal, why the second copy choice? (selected items and their sub items)
