csv import failure - 190,000 items

Submitted by jimspoon on 2015/06/23 19:49
I use a program called Manictime which records my computer activity.  I exported some of its data to a tab-delimited CSV file - 190,000 rows.  I added a "computer" field to each row in Excel.

Tried to import the data into IQ.  Created fields in IQ to correspond to the fields in the CSV file.

The data import seems to go well through step 1, but at step 3, the fields for which I attempted to import data are blank.   If I go ahead with the import - indeed 190K items are created, but there is nothing in the fields that I made.

Screenshots attached.

content lost when text lines with embedded tabs are pasted

Submitted by jimspoon on 2015/06/16 22:53
Hi Pierre,

I pasted some lines from a text file into the Item column in IQ.  Now, some of these lines had in turn been pasted from a spreadsheet - several columns worth - so they had tabs separating the text entries that had been in the columns.  So, I was pasting text into IQ that had "embedded tabs' in them.

Now, when I pasted these lines into IQ, I got the usual IQ dialog box, and I chose to paste each line in a separate item.

Unfortunately, the lines I referred to were not pasted in their entirety.  Rather, only the text up to the first tab was pasted.  The rest of the line was simply lost.  Nor was the additional text (after the first tab)  it placed in another IQ field(s) - it's just lost.

Hope this is clear!

Maximize/Minimize/Close Commands Wrong Position in Version 0.9.26Pre-Rel53

Submitted by David_H on 2015/06/15 14:47
I am running:

InfoQube0.9.26PreRel45Portable (now an expired beta, no issues on this version)
InfoQube0.9.26PreRel53Portable

At first I thought the Maximize/Minimize/Close commands were completely missing in V53.  Then I noticed them way over to the left.  It only happens when maximized.  If I drag the screen size so it is the same as maximized it does not happen.  The screen resolution on this monitor is 2560 x 1600.  Screenshot attached.

Version 0.9.26Pre-Rel53 is now available !

Hi IQ Users,

In this release (v0.9.26PreRel53):
  • New: Gantt menu
  • New: Gantt: Added Show critical path and Recalculate critical path commands
  • New: Gantt: Added "Can move a task that has started". If unchecked, a task that has started (i.e. %Complete > 0) can no longer be moved. Users can still manually change the start and end dates.
  • New: Gantt: Added a "Show Today" command. It centers the Gantt chart on today's date
  • New: Gantt: Double-click on the Gantt area where there is no bar moves the chart to the first bar date (or to today if the chart does not yet have a date)
  • New: Gantt: Link properties dialog.

Omnibox: how should this work?

Submitted by gregory on 2015/06/11 01:11
For me, the Omnibox is behaving very much as the old search dialogue used to do. If I type in the Omnibox, all that happens is that the text I am typing shows in the Omnibox and a dark grey box appears below it. See Figure 1.

Figure 1: Omnibox behaviour

If I press enter, the behaviour is just as the standard find. See Figure 2.
Figure 2. Standard search appears, nothing new here.

email addresses entered into items not shown as expected

Submitted by jimspoon on 2015/06/04 19:46
In a new item, I typed the following into the Item field:

2015.06.04.1840 - test entry of email address - somebody@gmail.com

As soon as I type the next space, the "somebody@gmail.com" is highlighted in blue and underlined.

However, as soon as press the down arrow to end the editing and move to the item below, the following appears, even if Show HTML Codes is turned off:

2015.06.04.1840 - test entry of an email address - <A mailto:somebody@gmail.com>somebody@gmail.com

No closing </A> tag appears in the grid.

I expected to see the grid display the item as

2015.06.04.1840 - test entry of email address - somebody@gmail.com

I'm using 52a.

sort sub-items bug?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2015/06/04 19:03
I have a TLI with 20 subitems.  The subitems contain names in the Item field.  I right-click on the TLI Item Field and select "Sort sub-items ascending".  Most of 20 sub-items do get sorted alphabetically, but three of them do not.  They appear as the first 3 subitems in the new sort.  They begin with D, B, W respectively, and then the remaining 17 items are properly sorted.

I can send a test file if it helps.
