[Item #] acting as a hyperlink for external files

Not really sure how I feel about this "feature" but it caused me to doubt my sanity for a little while, so might as well open it for discussion.

I was checking to see how well IQ handled the display of animated GIFs (superb as expected) but, every time I clicked on the [Item #] column, my image viewer would pop up. I expanded that column a bit and discovered that the text portion highlighted as a hyperlink while the rest functioned as the standard Grid Row Selector that I had come to expect. Not really a problem now that I understand what is going on, but a little bit unexpected.

The Items were added via Drag & Drop with the settings shown below. The images were added to the Document with [Add HTML] button.

Changing item background color

Options>General>Grid column(s) showing item color>Item

How do I change this default to color all the item columns in a grid?  In options, I would do this by leaving the setting blank.  But when you do that in Manage Fields, it uses the file default, which isn't what I want.

I tried various ways to say "All" but don't know what I'm doing.  Is there a way to do it other than listing all the fields in the grid?

Splitting Documents at Headers

Hey Pierre... Now that you've been bestowed Hero Status, how about moving up to DemiGod?

I've been dissecting Paul's excellent Comparison of Note-Taking article by capturing it from WordPress, pasting as Text and assigning Headers 1 thru 4 to mark the various Sections. What I want is to see the whole article BUT with ONLY the IQ-specific sections. This requires a whole lot of Cutting & Pasting to create a hierarchical Grid with each Section in its own Item. Some quick Tagging, Filtering and Exporting and I can get what I want plus the individual Sections can be searched and referenced individually.

Favourites List

At the moment the Favourites list is just a flat list which can get quite long.

It would be nice if users could put a named folder into the list.

So the favourites list would become a list of favourites and folders, each folder could contain favourites and folders which could contain favourites and folders′.

In effect this would take it from a flat list to a tree, which would be more useful.

InfoQube has a sophisticated tagging system:

  • Tags can be formatted (bold, italic, back color, text color) and can include icons. This, to easily identify important tags
  • Tags can be hidden from the tags list (to archive tags without losing the item tags)
  • Tag can be arranged in hierarchy
  • Hierarchy is used to provide tag Inheritance (parent tag automatically inherits child tags)
  • Tags can be under multiple parent tags (i.e.
