Sort by priority

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/04/27 09:50
I want to sort a text priority column:

A, B, C, (blank)

But sorting gives me either:

1) (blank), A, B, C
or
2) C, B, A, (blank)

The default number priority column avoids this by using "5" as highest priority.  That's counter-intuitive to me.  "1" has always meant highest priority in my mind, and I'd prefer not to have to remember that in InfoQube, priorities are reversed.

Seems like there should be a simple solution.

non-hierarchical data import issues (import from text box, date format)

Submitted by jimspoon on 2019/04/26 13:29
I'm experimenting with the non-hierarchical data import feature, using data copied from an Excel spreadsheet - four columns, first column text data, fourth column is a date.

(1)  First I tried pasting a few rows into the "Data to import:" text box.  I checked the Tab field delimiter box.  When I clicked "Next", IQ displayed the following message:

"Nothing to import.  Verify input data and settings."

I tried selecting all the text in the text box before clicking the Next button - same Nothing to Import message.

(2)  Next I copied the same rows into a text file.  I verified that the field delimiter copied to the text file was the Tab character.  I saved the text file, and then loaded it into the Import dialog using the Open File button.  This time, when I clicked the Next button, IQ advanced to the Step 2 Fi

Can't customize toolbars

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/04/20 10:39
I'm unable to add the icon tool to my toolbars.

1) Right-click header>Customize>Commands>Format>Drag "Add Icon" to header toolbars
2) Icon shows in toolbars
3) Close customize dialogue = icon disappears

I'm not going to go through everything I've tried, including closing other instances of InfoQube  One time I got the tool to remain in place but when I closed and
re-opened InfoQube, it was gone again.

I see I can use the popup editor to insert icons but I'm still concerned about why I can't customize my toolbar.

More quirks with 'highlight focused cell' option disabled

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2019/04/18 06:59
Have been trying to use this 'mode' as it's much easier on the eyes, especially if you work with non-black text colour a lot. Right now, these two things still spoil the experience:

  1. Can not paste multiple items at once (neither text nor .xml works).
  2. When selecting multiple items by drag and drop or shift+cursor, all focused cells will be highlighted (or is that 'highlit'?), not just the row headers of the selected items.

Control Hyperlink Target Location?

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/04/13 17:52
Is there any way to control which grid location is used when you link to an item?

A little experimenting suggests a link to Item #1 will always take you to Item #1 in its home grid.

But what if I want to link to Item #1 at its location in another grid?  Or at its location as a particular subitem (vs other subitem locations when it has multiple parents)?

Couldn't find this addressed in the manual
