First off, I hope it's okay if I try out an alternate theme with Infoqube... I believe Pierre mentioned somewhere that he's really not that interested in themes, so I took the liberty to include a copy of aero.msstyles in the Infoqube 'themes' folder (I hate blue, among other things). Pointing Infoqube to this file under Tools>Themes>Browse seems to work nicely, but it never sticks after I close and reopen the programme. Is the theme path entered elsewhere?

If alternate themes are discouraged, please let me know and I'll forget the whole endeavour entirely.

The theme is saved in options.ini (portable version, this is in the Users\YourName folder).

Strange, it seems to work here when I tried it. Are you using the portable or installed flavors ?

I'm using the installed version of 9.25M. In options.ini, I have an entry <Theme>2007</Theme>, which I assume means Office2007 (which was indeed my previous style, and the one to which IQ continues to revert. Can I edit this directly in the .ini file? and if so, what would be the syntax for the path? Thanks, Pierre.

I got it. I pointed IQ to one of your 'hidden' themes, and found the syntax for the path (which is just straight forward). That one stuck no problem-- same directory and everything. Weird. Anyways, I manually entered the path to mine in options.ini and everything is swell. Thanks again.

Where was this options.ini file located ? Other settings are saved, but not the theme ? Quite strange... OS version ?

I have Windows 7 Home, and the options.ini file was in "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\InfoQube". I've never had issues previously with settings not sticking, until I tried introducing this new theme, and pointing IQ to the aero.msstyles file (which I put in "C:\Program Files\InfoQube Information Manager\themes"). I don't know what the deal was. It's fine now, but if you like, I can try a portable install and see if I get the same problem?

Ah ! That is probably it. This is a protected folder, so Windows is probably doing something on us.

If you put the file in a non-protected folder, I bet you it would work just fine...

I tried putting the msstyles file into my User folder and pointing IQ to it there, but the different theme selection is still not saved in options.ini. I can change between 2007 and 2003, for instance, and also select one of the 'hidden' themes in the "C:\Program Files\Infoqube Information Manager\themes" directory (eg. WinXP.Royale.cjstyles), and these are all written to options.ini no problem, but for some reason my aero.msstyles isn't (options.ini continues to contain the previous selection, to which IQ reverts when reopening). Can anyone else confirm this?

If you have a good theme, don't hesitate to submit it (zip). I've tried numerous and found none that were any real improvement

Also, 2007 supports color themes (say gray, etc) so I could add support for this

I just wanted to tweak the colour scheme, so I would be all for adding support for that in 2007. If I eventually do anything original with my theme (hack the aero.msstyles a bit), I'll be happy to post it!

I also posted right before you there, Pierre, in case you missed it.
