Details of changes to come later on today.

Due to the numerous changes (and an update from a supplier), it is marked "Unstable"

Wooohooo! :)
I'm running it right now. So far so good.
Love the new features and fixes. Especially those affecting my work flow :
(and to a lesser extent, but it's good that it's fixed : GDI usage [FIXED 0.9.25W4?])

Being able to copy a grid is just great.

I've reverted to w3. It appears column filter not working in w4 &  I'm working in columns now.

Here it works -- filtering/sorting using column filters/headers. Can you describe what you're doing ? Thanks.

Filter Headers / column filter >  Blanks, Non-Blanks, All
When I click on Non-blanks it does not filter out the blanks

Humm... it does here.

Can you reproduce it in the sample IQBase, using say the Adrsbook grid and filter on the Tel number column ?

I dont use that much but it seems to be working as expected here so far.
Just to rule it out - could the filter settings have possibly changed when you updated? (settings have changed here on occasion on update)

 Hi Jan,

To confirm that there is an issue with this, I need to know
  1. the Column filter type
  2. and to see the items (the hierarchy is important, depending on the filter type)

or as I said earlier, reproduce it with an sample IQBase

Pierre, at this point I don't know WHAT you are talking about. These are all TLI. The ONLY filter is column filter NO-blanks as demonstrated in the video. I give up. Somebody else may see the same problem eventually, explain it better & it'll get fixed.  Meantime, I'll probably revert to w3 again. Thanks for your interest anyway.

Are other fields working correctly ? Is it only yes/no fields that have this problem ? What is the column filter type ?  (one of :Root items, All items, All items and subs)

I just tried what we witness in Jan's screencast and I get the same problem with Boolean fields. Reproducible in my DB and in a sample one. The column filter options
all do the same thing.

BTW : I find these options confusing... What are "Root items" ? Those meeting the source ? And what's the difference between the three others ? I can guess and try but it's not obvious.

[EDIT : I realize there's an extra entry in my menu (Filter TLI and Sub Items) which shouldn't be there. I probably didn't update it at some point.]

 Armando,

There is now only 3 options (you must have customized the menus...)
  1. Root items : filter is applied to root items only (1st level). subitems of these root items are not filtered (hence shown)
  2. All Items: Filter is applied to all items. If an item meets the criteria, it is shown. Sub-items of this item are shown, whether they meet or not
  3. All Items and sub-items: Only items meeting the criteria are shown
For cases 2 and 3, parents of items that meet the filter are shown of course, to show the hierarchy

#2 & #3 Very confusing nomenclature IMHO but I don't have any better suggestions @ the moment.

Yes, sorry, I had edited my post, but you probably read the 1st version. (The other 4th option in my menu must be from another IQ version at some point in time.)

It seems to me that the terminology is just not consistent enough since we generally talk about Top Level Items instead of Root.

The 3rd option is a bit hard to get at first glance without any explanation. Maybe it should be a "sub option" of the 2nd option : "Show only items meeting the criteria"

Can't comment yet about all other fields.
Currently it seems to be a yes/no problem.
Column filter type = all items & sub-tems

I can reproduce it with the sample IQbase. I'll look into a fix (The grid supplier made some small changes and this is a consequence)

In the meantime, the following works (enter it in the column filter text box) :
  • 0  (=blanks)
  • -1 (=non-blanks)
HTH

Version v0.9.25W5 is now available.

I've had to return to the previous version of the grid component, until the column filter issue is fixed on their end.

This means that the GDI handle consumption will be like it was for v0.9.25W3 (approx 250 per opened grid)

Pierre, There seem to be other issues with the new grid as well.

(1) ability to format outline on the fly
(2) possible memory problem when using split screens

Hopefully your vendor can check into those as well.

Pierre, Just a reminder to post this under announcements as well (I don't have permissions or I would do it for you :).
