Situation

field date due has value
user adds field datedone via <ctrl>M or by manually entering datedone

Result need
field datedue is blanked out

I know I should know this simple stuff but for some reason I just can't get my head around it. I've been trying for past hour

Comments

In the auto-assign of datedone, you could add: A:Due=

This will erase the field Due when an item is marked done

BTW: Why would you want to do this... don't you loose important information ?

Thanks Pierre.
But I still have a problem

A:Done=|
A:ItemForeColor=&H808080|:ItemForeColor=
A:DateDue=

I also have conditional color assignments for priority & Pending which I wanted to change from 1 to zero at the same time but couldn't construct the formula.
Each of the latter have conditional formulas to change the color so on done, color would be removed.
I'm afraid I'm a lost cause. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm alone on this.

IQ equations, etc are very powerful tools but hard to implement for the non-techie IMHO but I'm willing to admit that it's just me if that's the case.

The rationale for this is a view I organized called bills to pay.
Filter = Month(DueDate)=03 (for this month 04, etc **

TLI's are from my address book which contain links, tel #'s for vendors, UN & PWs for payment sites. etc in property pane
The bills appear as sub-items with due date, done date & how paid, i.e. field for debit or check
Source = Invoice
Sort datedue asc

Many of the bills come via email which I clip & assign to field "Invoice" & they appear in the proper view
Then I drag them to proper vendor, ie. comcast, chase, etc.
If email clipping allowed user to select fields I would add invoice, datedue & cost right there & save to IQ & it would automatically appear in the right view
Although there are a number of ways to filter I found this system the simplest
It's also not logical in my mind to have a datedue when it's already done.
but I'm certainly open to suggestions.
