I have several predefined drop down fields that work fine in the grid, but will not drop down in the properties pane. This is with pre-7. I tested the same database with 09.25W10 and the drop-downs in the properties pane work as expected. I think this is a bug with the properties pane in pre-7.

Pierre, do you see this?

Hmm...

Nobody can confirm? The reason why this is a problem for me is that it is the quickest way I know to change column values of multiple items. As I said, it does work with W10 but not with pre 7. Perhaps a component has changed?

I'm not able to reproduce it. Can you reproduce it with the sample IQBase ?

That you cannot reproduce it indicates that there is something in my database that triggers this problem. I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, but I think it is unlikely that the OS is to blame. I will PM the file to you tomorrow and you can take a look.

Yes, they work fine here in properties pane with Pre7 & Win7 Pro 64bit

Thanks for the information. I sent the file to Pierre's investigation. Tom, I found that the drop downs will work if the field is auto populated. If not, the drop downs fail. Do you have predefined fields (not auto populated) that are working correctly?

This may be superfluous now, but I do actually have predefined fields (not auto populated) that are working correctly.

I didnt have "Entry must be in Field" selected so I tried it with that too, and no difference.
Also works fine with maximised window.
(I didnt test in sample grid)

I believe this only happens on a dual monitor setup, with the IQ window maximized on the left monitor

Thank you Pierre. Bear in mind that this does not happen using W10. I imagine therefore that there should be some setting to prevent this from happening.

Pierre figured it out. The drop down opens off screen. If I use a dual monitor, I can see it. Pierre suggested to use a window (as opposed to maximized) view and that works. I'm sure there is a tweak to fix my problem and Pierre will let us know. At least I can now use pre-7!
