Hi IQ Users,

In this release (v0.9.26PreRel19):
  • New: Grids: Can specify the number of context parents to show (previously, only the immediate parent was shown)
  • New: Grids: Simplified hierarchy display. Show hierarchy ON/OFF.
If OFF, a flat list of items is shown (use "Grid Properties > View > Show expand buttons in flat view" to show/hide expand buttons)
  • New: Calendar: If an event is selected, left/right arrow keys select the previous/next event
  • New: Calendar: Copy/Paste events
  • Removed: Grids: Save Item state no longer exists.
  • Fixed: HTML Export sometimes fails to export correctly (HTML style bullets will bullets for all levels)

And, usual, enjoy an additional 90 days of free use !

Thank you Pierre. It will take me a few days to test it properly (VERY busy now), but I am looking forward to seeing how you implemented the multiple context parents.

>>>
Unclear here:
I still (pre-release 20) have Show Hierarchy >Full Hierarchy in the grid menu.

Minor: if I go to menu: Grid >Properties, "Show expand buttons in flat view" is under "Options" (not under 'View')

I had more than a moments panic this morning when I couldnt see any sub-items in my work grid. I'm wondering, would it not be safer to have the "Show expand buttons in flat view" selected by default?

I think that the best compromise would be to keep the expand buttons by default (since they indicate that the item has children), but not "expandable" -- unless one is in hierarchy mode and unless one presses/triggers "show all sub items".
Also, when a user tries to expand in flat view, a popup could warn the user that she/he's in flat view -- a check box could be checked to not show that warning again.

I understand Pierre's goal here, but I'm not sure it really simplifies things as I had more or less the same experience you had.

Yeah...
I guess it wasn't such a great idea after all.

In v0.9.26PreRel21, I'll be backtracking and display expand buttons. No more options, too confusing

Flat view will open flat, with all items closed, but users can open them to see sub-items.
