I want to copy all Items from one grid to a brand new grid with preserving the order from the original grid.
There is no hierarchy outline in the first grid.
As of now the copy/pasting (put items in grid option) preserves some of the ordering, but not entirely.

Hi,

2 options, depending on what you want
  1. New grid containing new items
  2. New grid containing the same items
For option 1, it is not currently possible.
For option 2: In the New Grid dialog, click on the Options and select Copy of an existing grid. The items will be in the same order as the original grid.

HTH !

Hi Pierre

option 2 is what I was after.

I tried your suggestion but it didn't exactly work, it didn't completely missed the order, but two or three item from 10-15 were misplaced.

My work-around which currently satisfies me is using hierarchies for when I want ordering of items to be preserved, although it wouldn't be bad if option 2 was working too.

OK, could it be that the items which were misplaced had been moved just before creating the grid copy ?
Item position is saved when (1) the grid is closed or (2) when Grid > Save is executed

"Grid>Save" did the trick :) Thank you.
