I can't figure out why outline labels won't show in one grid.
 
I have the option checked in Manage Grids:
 
 
But labels don't show up:
 
Other grids are fine.  I've refreshed the grid, re-started InfoQube, and gone through the Help manual.  Is there another setting that would affect this?
 
By the way, it appears you cannot select the entire row of cells unless the labels are active.
 
I'm still using 9.73c.

In your second screenshot, aren't 1 and 2 outline labels ?
 
You can use Grid > Labels on the tree column to toggle the display of item number on the tree column or on the # column. To select an item when the labels are on the tree column, you can (1) use the cursor to move left (from the tree column) or (2) Edit > Select Item (Alt + S)

OK, now I understand. I was misreading that setting as "show/don't show labels" instead of the correct "show/don't show labels in tree column".  
 
If you don't want to see the label column at all, you just drag the border until it disappears?  I don't see it as a column that can be turned on or off.

Exactly, reduce the # column to be near zero
