Due to the resolution and size of my desktop (4K 50") versus laptop (15" 1920 x 1200) I would like to have things laid out differently for each.  I believe I read recently this was now possible, but I'm not sure how to enable it.  I know how to load layouts, but unless I'm mistaken, the last active layout still opens when I switch between machines, and if it's optimized for one won't be optimized for the other.

Whereas I want completely separate settings for each, for instance different column widths on my desktop versus my laptop.  How would I accomplish this?

Thanks

Bump.  Is this possible?  I would like to not have to resize all my panes every time I switch between desktop and laptop.

If it's not possible maybe I can create layouts that are dedicated to each computer and select a different layout when I switch between computers.

Thanks

Hi David,

It isn't possible to have different column width for each PC, unless you set the columns to be Auto-size width
As for using different layouts for each PC, currently it is saved in the DB, but I'll move it to the YourFile.ini file, which will permit that.

Pane layout is already separate for each computer isn't ?
Perhaps you're referring to tab workspace layout...

Pierre, maybe it would be best if I attach an example of what I'm referring to.  Here are two screenshots I grabbed off the SAME computer where I manually changed things to simulate what I experience when switching computers.

The 4K shot is what the screen looks like on my 4K monitor, where I can see have a ton of columns visible.

Now I close and reopen on my laptop and I get something like in the image titled 2K.  So now I need to resize all the panes to make it usable.

Of course I might also want completely different layouts on the two different computers.  But my original post was simply talking about what happens when I use the same layout and move from one computer to the other.

Make sense?

Thanks

Thanks for the screenshots David,

Now, how are you synching these 2 IQBases ? Are they located on a Dropbox folder, a network folder or using the Sync described in 1. Synchronization between computers using Dropbox ?

Basically, each copy needs to be in a separate folder with distinct YourBase.ini files...

I sync the two databases (only) using DropBox and do it manually, being careful to always close when done so I don't have sync conflicts.  So I guess that's the issue.

If I set up the feature you've built for DropBox, I assume toolbar settings, HTML pane settings and so forth will be shared between computers?  I have one computer set up with a lot of custom toolbars exactly as I want them, but not the other.  I assume I would sync that one first, and then sync the other one and select "close and open the updated database"?

Thanks
