I just temporarily lost items from a grid again. It's my own fault for procrastinating about installing the latest update which might have prevented it..
I selected all the items in a grid to do an alphabetical sort. After completing the sort, I clicked on one of the items to return to normal work, and all 174 items in the grid disappeared.
This is how I found them:
1) Created a grid named "orphans" with the source left blank. This loaded all created TLI's with subitems collapsed. I was afraid this would crash the system but there were only 1,400+ items and they loaded fine.
2) I scanned the list and re-assigned the vagrant items to the original grid using forms. This was made pretty easy by having color-coded the items.
So I don't have an outstanding problem but can't help wonder if there's a more direct way to accomplish this. I admit that despite having read the manual numerous times, I still don't grasp how to use search efficiently.
In this case, is there a way to do a direct search that returns all items unassigned to grids (orphans)? I tried using an asterisk and also leaving the search box blank to return all items but that didn't work.
