Hi IQ Users !

This community website was built some 12 years ago, using Drupal 5, a content management system.
It was sort of "cutting edge" back then. It isn't anymore, and the language it is built upon, php, has evolved quite a bit, from php4 to the current php7.

A few years ago, we were forced to move to php5 which mostly worked (user account page was notably broken) but it is impossible to run Drupal 5 on php7, which the hosting service is about to migrate to.

So... next week, I'll try to rebuild a community website using Drupal 9 and transfer the content.
Wish me luck, I'll need it as this is definitely not my specialty !!

If this website goes down before I can complete the new one, please use the backup Google group
New version announcements will be made on the main website

** UPDATE **

  1. All user account were transferred ! Passwords were not transferred however. More on this later
  2. Forum migration went quite well. Some features will need to be completed (such as links using the node:xxx syntax)
  3. Book migration also went well, except the database structure in Drupal v9 is very different than v5, so there is quite a bit of data entry to reproduce the correct book page structure. In progress... Done
  4. Blogs are online too
  5. Search works !
  6. To login, click on  the link to reset password

What remains to fix:

  1. Book tree view: DONE !
  2. [node:xxx] internal links: DONE !
  3. [quote] tags
  4. Editor: Text highlighting
  5. Editor: Easier image insertion
  6. F1 links in InfoQube UI: DONE !
  7. File attachments: DONE !

I feel for you! How I loathe these nasty encroachments of unwanted and unnecessary demands on one's time... Here's wishing us all a smooth transition!

I was going to say that to help you in the next few weeks that I won't post questions about IQ misbehaving that turn out to be my fault but I can't make that promise.

I'd like to use WinHTTrack on the forum while it's still here..
Does anyone have recommendations for appropriate settings, (I don't want to accidentally  attempt to copy all of wikipedia or something in the process?)

Good job with the transer.  I like the new look.

Hmmm, first stupid question and of course it's from me.  How do I edit the post.   Spelling mistake... First ever.

It's good to see the new website up. Are the blogs coming over? Comparing to to the old forum, I don't see the blogs, and I see there is a new collaborators forum.

Blogs are back !

Hi Keith

You should be able to edit your own posts now

As for Blogs, I haven't looked into it. At worst we'll create a "Blogs" book

Still quite a bit of work to have it as the old one was however...

I was thinking it would be a great idea to have the "InfoQube for beginners: Writing an outline" available somewhere, not necessarily a blog.

I agree.  It would be useful and seen immediately if the "InfoQube for Beginners: Writing an Outline" were under the IQ Documentation in the menu box in the upper left where the InfoQube User Manual is.

That way users can see it without knowing what to search for.

I wish all developers were like you.

Congratulations on the migration!  Managed to reset my password (obviously) and glad to be back online.

I have a stored copy of the "InfoQube for Beginners: Writing an outline" blog post.  So if needed I can repost it wherever it would be helpful.

Also made it to the new - and much prettier - place. We all knew you'd work it out, though, Pierre!

Hi IQ Users !

Internal node links now work as they did

[node:xxx] will create a hyperlink to the page xxx with the link showing the page title

so this should be a link to this page (ID=5153): Community Website Migration

(it took a while, I know, but the internal link module was not compatible with Drupal 9 and I had to write my own 😎)
