This is an intermittent bug, but I encounter it very often. If I have two Document Panes open, A and B, and switch focus from A to B, navigation keys (up/down arrows, page up/down) have no effect in B, but continue to effect A. In other words, focus has changed and document B is now highlighted, but the cursor keys are still operating as if focus was on document A. Generally it will start off working as it should, but at some point the problem will occur.

I suspect it happens if one or both of the documents is in MHT format. If they are both HTML (e.g. if they are documents I have created, rather than clipped) I don't get this problem.

I was able to reproduce it, but not systematically, so it may be difficult to track it down. I'll keep an eye on it. I don't often have more than one Doc pane open...

Two options to alleviate the issue

  1.  Pressing F6 twice (once to go back to the grid and the second to go to the Doc pane) seems to fix it
  2. You can use the Item Editor instead of the second Doc pane

This happens when "Print Spooler" Windows service is stoped/disabled. If its running everything is ok.
I don't have any printers and service is not running. Also some people disable this service as a security measure.

Yes, as the new welcome email says, when you register, as a simple security measure, you cannot post a new thread until approved, which you now are.

Thanks Pierre. I find the ability to have two documents side-by-side in IQ really valuable for notetaking. Typically I have one locked (my notes) and one unlocked (for navigating among the various source items I am taking notes from).

Yes, two item Editors side-by-side I've found is also a good way of doing this.
