I am sure this has been covered but please let me ask again.

I would like to sort by day of the week and also by priority within each day.

As in ecco's sort key 1 and sort key 2 technique.

There are a couple of ways depending on the sorting criteria and hierarchy

The grid source has a sort box where you can enter 1 or more fields to sort. A refresher of how this can be used to best manage items can be found here: 1. Grid Display Modes and here: 5. Sorting and Grouping Items

The grid also has a sort bar where you can drag as many fields as you wish. 

If you find that any of the sort options do not work as it should, please share it with us. It could be by design or a bug, in the latter case, I'll try to fix it.

Wow so many ways to sort.

Sadly NONE work for me.

I just cannot for the life of me get a 2 key sort working. Sort bar does not seem to do much.

I would r-e-a-l-l-y like a step by step how to do a 2 key sort

Hi !

Start with the sample app and share specific questions. Regarding bugs, it seems that to get the Sort bar to work for multiple keys, you need to set Sort Items and Sub-items (Grid > Sort menu)

Sorting using the Source bar is very simple to use, in particular if you do not have much hierarchy.

All I have is three columns. Item , Weekday & Priority.

Under no circumstances whatsoever can I get IQ to sort first by Week day and then by Priority.

I can do one or the other. If I sort be weekday then priority is unsorted. If i sort by Priority then Weekday is unsorted. 

Can you help me please this is very frustrating.

 

 

 

I'm not sure how your WeekDay field is set up (calculated from a date field or just text), but here is a sample example using the Sort bar that works:

The same can be done with the Source bar sort, simply enter Date, Priority in the Sort text box
