Now that we have very robust options for hierarchical tags, I'm trying to figure out how to make child items inherit the tags of parent items. The "ItemTags" field doesn't seem to be available in the field management view, so I don't see how to create a Column Inheritance equation. Would there be some may to set certain tags to always automatically be assigned to children of tagged items?
For example, let's say I have a Tag called "@Home", and I have a task called "Measure table". I assign the tag "@Home" to the task "Measure table". Now I create a subtask under "Measure table" called "Find measuring tape". And I want this new subtask to automatically inherit the tag "@Home". Perhaps I'm missing something, but this scenario doesn't seem to be addressed in the current documentation. (Perhaps inheritance would eventually become unwieldy anyway -- I just wanted to experiment, so was looking for a way to do it.)

I have the same question.
Hi Lucas and Viking, Tags…
Hi Lucas and Viking,
Tags are meant to be lightweight alternative to fields so they don't support inheritance (unlike fields)
If all sub-items inherit from the parent, what are you gaining really. Isn't more useful to simply tag the parent ? And expand the parent to view sub-items...
It should be technically possible to do now however (if you want to test its usefulness) by adding an Auto-assign for the ItemTagCount field (which would set a value for a field that has inheritance)

No, probably not important (at least not as I can see now). I just wondered if I missed something.
