This is a really big wish on my IQ "bucket list". Being able to set background and / or text color based on certain fields would be amazing. Funnily, I seem to remember having the background aspect working at some point but have completely forgotten how I did it.
Cheers

Hi Left, The ItemColor field…
Hi Left,
The ItemColor field does determine the event back color. If not set, then the associated date field also sets the back color
HTH!
I'll work with that, thanks!

Hm, I'm trying to show recurring events in the calendar with a differently coloured background.
I have set up these auto-assign rules for the 'ItemIsRepeating' field:
AM:[ItemColor]="2171945"|E:[ItemColor]=
No luck, however - the ItemColor field is not assigned a value for a new item created as a repeating calendar event, even though "ItemIsRepeating" is checked.
Took the color value from a thread I found on the forum - not even sure what color it is. Am always confused about colours in IQ - usually they are hex values but in the ItemColor field they display as decimal numbers (?), so not sure what format to use when setting the field value via auto-assign.
No luck indeed,…
No luck indeed, ItemIsRepeating is a smart field and these don't trigger auto-assign rules
For colors, decimal, hex or octal notations all represent a number, so use what suits you best
Nor row equations, I suppose?

Yes, it seems they can. Have…
Yes, it seems they can. Have written a VB function I call from row equation to color calendar events based on the value of ItemIsRepeating.
My next question would be:
(How) can I create a smart field to reflect whether an appointment is scheduled or not? I. e. its value should be "Yes" for scheduled events, "No" for unscheduled or all-day events. That would allow me to give scheduled events a different colour also.
Many thanks!
