I lost my selection color when I tried changing it in 125.3.  The loss has continued after updating to 125.5

Options: Selection color set to red:

Options: Select border turned on:

The border color works but not the select fill color:

But fill color does work if I select any column except item:

 

Turning WYSIWYG on and off had no effect.  I've tried changing colors, re-booting etc.

The idea of the "show a box" is precisely to Not show the selection color (so item formatting can be displayed). It is one or the other

I'm using the box precisely because the selection color isn't working.  If I turn off the box, I have no way of seeing what cell is selected (I just checked again to confirm what I've seen many times).  I've tried every combination of on/off/color/box etc many times.  Nothing works.

Sometimes, if I double click to enter edit mode, it'll briefly show the selection color, but that's it.
