Duplicating the grid doesn't count, as when I try to edit the newfound filter, the "current filter" text box is blank.

Hi,

I don't quite follow... the Grid Source bar filter can be copy -> pasted from one grid to another (Grid > View > Source bar)

Would you like the Filter this grid to auto-fill based on the current filter?

Hi,

The grid column header filter (which you used in this case) cannot be copied. It is an UI friendly method. But it is so easy to select it in another grid (click on the header dropdown, select one or more entries)

IQ has many other ways to filter, some of which even have filter history:

  1. Find - Filter dialog (Ctrl+F)
  2. Grid > Column filter (Ctrl+G)
  3. Grid > Source bar. Edit the Filter text box

See

  1. 4. Searching and Filtering Items
  2. 2. Filtering
  3. Source Filter Editbox

HTH!

None of these work as it only shows me the filter from the current session.

If I turn off my computer yesterday then turn it on today, upon viewing my infoqube database, all three options you've mentioned, show a blank filter from the available list (for typing or history).

Hi,

  1. The Source Filter Editbox clearly has copy / paste (from one grid to another) and history (from session to session)
  2. Have you tried the Filter by selection? It is so easy to use. Select one of more cells and click the C filter button (or use Grid > Column Filter)

Perhaps you can attend our next training session, this Thursday most likely

Have you tried?

Let's go through these suggestions, one by one, so you can see what I mean.

  1. Source Filter Editbox: I want to access the filter from the "grid column filter" that is accessible from Ctrl + G, not the filter I can copy and paste from clicking the "open" icon on the toolbar to toggle the filtering input options, on and off. (see above image)
  2. Filter By Selection: I want to copy the existing filter, all in one swoop, not select each field or column one by one, across every grid I'l create. The (V) icon on the column header isn't useful to me.
  3. Grid ---> Column Filter: That's for typing in an existing filter. Here's what I see below, I cannot copy the existing filter.

How do I ?
