OK, I know that this has something to do with the centering of the bullet. I have mentioned this before, but I would be happy to see this resolved. If an item contains multiple lines yet is displayed as a single line, the item does not show the first line of the text. I recall this has something to do with the vendor you use. Since this defect may be beyond your control, is it possible to have an option to fold the item? This would work just as well, and in most cases be more flexible.

NoteMap (http://www.casesoft.com/notemap/index.asp) is an excellent outliner, albeit with some bugs. It has a fold feature which allows users to "collapse" a multiple line item and display only the first line. An icon indicates that the note is folded. I can provide a screeenshot, but it is better explained by trying it. A trial is available at the site.
