Right now it's only available in the properties pane context menu when right clicking in the Tagged items section. It's useful in the properties pane, but I think it would also be very convenient if the user could have access to the feature directly from the grid.

That is a good idea. At the moment your only options outside the properties pane is to add items to the tagged list or clear it entirely, would be nice to be able to remove selected items also. Though it would be more usable I guess if tagged items were 'visible' in some way.

I guess a question could be why is the tagged list in the properties pane? It doesn't seem to have any relation to the current item or it's properties at all.

As you know They are visible in the properties pane (Tagged items section) but maybe it would be a good idea to have a "tagged items" grid. I created one in my own DB (source : ItemsTagged ; it's a hidden field)  so that I can manage these items more efficiently.

Good point. I guess Pierre needed to put that list somewhere, but you're right that the properties pane is probably not the best place. A  "Tagged Items" grid would probably be more coherent.
[edit : at the same time, I'm used to having the tagged items list in the properties pane for quick access... I use the "Add tagged items as sub items" option a lot and so I also use the properties pane to quickly check the tagged items list.]

I think it is probably a good idea to have them in a 'persistent' window like the properties pane. so you can see the list while tagging items across multiple grids (like you also mention below).

Maybe it would make more sense if "Tagged items" were a top level item in the properties pane and defaulting to being collapsed? I just feel it seems less intuitive the way it's tugged in under Item at the moment.

When using a "Tagged items" grid, it's possible to "delete" (ctrl-e) an item and choose the "remove from this grid only" option to also remove the item from the itemstagged list directly from the grid (not going through the properties pane). However, is this  intuitive ? It took me a while to remember that this is how I used to do it a few months ago, so I guess it's not.
