Please post your notifications  pane problem here -- not so much what it displays but the pane itself showing up or not.
 
I haven't delved into the details, but here's a start :
 
1- Sometimes the pane is checked in the view menu, but invisible in the UI. This usually happens after an IQ restart.
 
2- The zoom function F11 does some weird things with it.

Ok. F11 actually makes the notification pane disappear. But, if I move my mouse to the LEFT of the screen, it will reappear (and the reappearance position varies depending on the pane's configuration I guess).
