Live search tab - vertical separation between items

I've noticed that in the results list when most of the resulting items have a good deal of item text, it is somewhat hard to distinguish where one item ends and the next begins. It would be great if there was an option for horizontal lines / frames or a few pixels' distance between items in that list / grid. I know I can set different colours for alternating lines, but that is a global setting if I'm not mistaken and I do not want to have a very strong contrast between lines in all my grids.

Optional Document Pane

Sometimes it would be nice not to display the document pane.

I know I can switch it off manually but that's not what I'm talking about.  Some grids are textual in nature and for those grids you want the Document Pane displayed.  But InfoQube is based on an SQL database and as such it can be used to manipulate tables of information which is not necessarily textual.

Option to default to external HTML files

Hi!

I am trying to keep the size of my database (.SNDB file) down to reduce the sync time to OneDrive. I have a large collection of web clips and emails sent to IQ (via EmailToIQ and the web clipper). I want to store all of those as external HTML files instead of inside the database.  Is it possible to add an option - either for the database or for a grid - to use external HTML files by default?  Right now I am manually converting them to external files.

Edit: another thought - it could be an option in the web clipping window - save to external HTML file.

Grid Deletions

Suggestion:

When deleting a grid, provide additional option to "delete grid and field with same name" so you don't have to do a separate navigation to the field dialogue.

When you create a grid, InfoQube handily creates a field with the same name and sets it as the source for the new grid.

This would be the corollary of that on the opposite end.

Color Suggestion

Minor suggestion:

In grid view, you can create your own custom color palette.

In Field Properties, you cannot access these custom colors.  It would be nice if we could access custom colors there.

For me, it would be useful because I use color coding to group my grid tabs.  I then color the corresponding fields in Forms to match the grid tabs.  Right now I cannot do that because the custom colors are not available for fields.  I tried using "close enough" colors from the default color grid and custom layout but there are no tan or light brown colors there.

Portable user settings directory

I share my portable IQ version via Dropbox between my home laptop and desktop, as well as my work laptop.  However, my username is different on each of these, so my user settings go into separate folders.  Would it be possible to add a command line option to override the name used for the settings directory so I could have the same directory for user settings in all environments?

Manage Grids- add Groups and Description as a column to List of Grids

it would be much easier to maintain grids if  "grid groups"  and "Description" from the "Properties of grid" (right side) could also show as a column under "List of grids" (left side).

And even nicer would be the ability to toggle on/off the columns in "List of grids" (for example I don't use the Alt+ column).

Nicest of all would be dropdowns on the "List of grids" columns to pick any of the options from the "Properties of grid".

Column Selection dialog - move buttons or drag and drop to rearrange

I find it easier to rearrange columns using a vertical list of columns than by dragging and dropping the actual (horizontally aligned) columns themselves - the latter may require horizontally scrolling back and forth in the grid.  Using the column selection dialog shown below, it is already possible to drag and drop a line to a desired position in the ordering of columns - but it has no effect on the ordering of columns in the grid.  I think it would be good if he grid column order could be changed this way.  It would also be useful to have "up" and "down" buttons in the dialog to do the sa

Default CSS for MHT items?

hi,

I'm back using IQ after another spell away... And each time I learn a little bit more.  This time I have been digging into using CSS stylesheets to control appearance.  I knew about default.css and changing that to control how the Document Pane looked - i.e. in HTML format. Now I have discovered you can use stylesheets to control the appearance of documents in MHT format as well, e.g. of the web pages I clip to IQ. My suggestion is: would it be possible to have an equivalent of default.css, but for MHT/web clippings?
