Created a new grid view
In Grid Properties > Data
I clicked data entry space (Instructions say use comma separated list) to add auto assigned fields
Unless user knows fields by memory, this does not work here
using drop down box replaces, does not add field after comma

Either a bug, some deep IQ GUI mystery or I'm doing something wrong.

Well,  I don't think that this should be considered a bug, only a suboptimal GUI.

There's no other menu, except for the multi-selection WikiTag menu, that does what you're expecting... unless I'm mistaken. So, yes, you need to know which fields to add (comma separated), but it's not that hard since you at least have a list and hence don't need to know anything by heart... And this is not a feature you use several times a day, normally

Of course,  menu like the WikiTag one would be much better. And this could be applied in other places like the AlphaNumeric toolbar.

to clarify (in case of confusion) , the WikiTag drop down menu you refer to is only in the New Item dialogue box (or the web clip one)
I've made the request to transfer that behaviour to the grid my only 'high priority request' Tom's request - improve wikitag selection

This is because, as you say "this is not a feature you use several times a day, normally" but, if you do want/need to add multiple complex tags (I mean big words!) to many items in one go, it's a different story

Sorry for veering slightly off-topic Jan   :-)    I guess you want the same improvements made to the auto-assign field

Yes & I don't think it's unreasonable to expect this facility across the board. Lack of consistency in the GUI only adds to confusion.  And to show you how this lack of consistency affected me: I thought it was a bug.

Whatever it is, I think Pierre should fix it.
