  • I created a new gmail account for IQ
  • Verified that it's working (has received email from another address)
  • Enabled imap in settings
I added the details as instructed on 2. Send To InfoQube using EmailToIQ :-
2-Step verification is ON (Recommended): Create an application specific password.
It is this application specific password you'll enter in the IQ dialog below.
As a bonus, should you change your main mail account password (recommended every few months), IQ will not require re-connection since it is using an application specific password
Details here:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833
Dialogue from 2.3.1 :-

When I try the [Test] in the setup dialogue (Options: 2.3.1)
I get the following message:

---------------------------
Email connection test...
---------------------------
Connection FAILED !
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I tried:
  • revoking the app specific password & creating a new one
  • I triple checked all details (yes entered correctly) so pretty sure it not user error
Wondering:
do the email options 1.5.1 to 1.5.5 have an influence here?

anyone got any ideas?
TIA, Tom

thanks Pierre,
the test now works, and unread email is being downloaded to IQ.

In Options > 2.3.3,
I added the field "Emails" (without inverted commas), but this is not being applied to the downloaded items.

This is strange, my settings for 2.3.3 is: InBox, EmailDate, Emails

and the Emails field is checked for new items

I tried with and without 'Emails' in 2.3.3 and the field does not get applied to items.
The file I'm using is relatively new (a couple of months)
Emails field already existed.

Here are the Emails in gmail:

and here in IQ

Note that any text after the # character is not included

I made significant improvements to EmailToIQ in v91:
  • New: EmailToIQ settings dialog: Checkbox to set the Username equal to the Email Address (often the case for web mail servers)
  • New: EmailToIQ: Use ## to mark the start of the fields
  • New: EmailToIQ: # flags that could not be processed (non-existent fields for example) are added to the item text so users are aware of the problem
  • Change: EmailToIQ: Fields in Tools > Options > 2.3.3 are always set. Before these were set only if no # flags was found in the email subject line

and it's working on my desktop today :-/
no idea what specifically changed to cause it to work... or what caused it to not work yesterday.

Anyways, it working now. Looking forward to the improvements
