After a lot of head-scratching, I came up with a database and accompanying screen shots for the hierarchy page 1. Grid Display Modes.  Assuming it's reasonably accurate, I hope others find it useful. It was a "a-ha" experience for me, to finally sort of understand this stuff.
  1. Did I interpret the existing info there correctly?
  2. Can others access the .sndb file attached?
  3. Are the screen shots accurate?
  4. Once I get the okay, I'd like to remove the table at the top totally.
  5. I made the "display settings" .sndb database only contain the the relevant items and grid; everything else has been removed.

wow Keith, another gem ;-)

I get a 404 on the file though

The info looks good to me but I look forward to actually opening the file & seeing it in practice (I always use hierarchy so this stuff is newish to me)

I find it a little confusing that the initial grid is actually called display settings - looking at the source box I was thinking -
what's [display settings] about ?
1) cause I thought it was a setting rather than a field
2) cause it's in square brackets - is that because it 2 seperate words ?  (after problems a long time ago I never use spaces in fields/grids)

EDIT/ I'm not suggesting you actually change the grid name - but if you explain the grid's name clearly above/before the first screenshot, I think that would cover any confusion
