How do I connect to the InfoQube database from and external program or script ?
 
Can you give me the details of the odbc connection string ?
 
Can I do both read and write operations ?

I'll write up a page specific to this and will integrate a function to make things easier for users, but right now, you can read this page for info: 9. Example-Finances
 
ODBC links are read only (as it should). Other apps can read info from IQ, but can't write to it.
