Is there a place were we can all see the roadmap? Pierre wrote about his plan in the recent reply below, but I can't find the official roadmap. Is the roadmap posted some place?

Re: Gantt chart problems in version P

Hi Dave,

These are all excellent comments and can all be implemented. The current plan is:
  1. v0.9.26: Enhanced calendar
  2. v0.9.27: Enhanced Rich Text Pane
  3. v0.9.28: More Ecco-like grid and filtering
  4. v0.9.29: Enhanced Gantt and other changes in preparation for v1.0RC
Have a great day !

Pierre,

The roadmap in Mantis seems awfully detailed and difficult to maintain. Is there a place where you could post a simple bottom line summary occasionally like you did above. Maybe it could be called Roadmap Summary or something like that and be kept in Announcements or on the Home page. I personally don't care if there are dates in the summary. I'd just like to see the big picture.

I see there is more Roadmap big picture stuff in the donations section of the main website too (shown below line).
  1. In the released version of IQ, will Gantt charts look as elegant as those shown in the Gantt chart with workload graph link below?
  2. I'm confused about the MindMap-like thing shown in the Org outline link below. Will IQ eventually create graphical maps that look like those shown in that link below?
  3. If I build a website with Liferay using MySQL as the content repository, then with the "Off-line sync to local or remote databases (to allow collaborative work)" could I change data in IQ and dynamically see the change in Liferay...and vise versa? For example, If I had an HTML web page being displayed in a Liferay portlet from MySQL, could I edit the page within IQ? And, if I edited that same page from within Liferay using CKEditor would it show up okay in IQ?

Hi Dave,

Answers to your questions:
  1. Yes, what aspects of the Gantt looks would you like implemented ?
  2. Same as item 1 above
  3. The Off-line sync is a means of retrieving content from a external database and bring it automatically into IQ. New and updated content. Content cannot be pushed back to the external database. In most cases, you either don't have the priviledges to do so, or else it would not be desirable.
HTH !

Pierre,

Thanks for your reply.

With respect to
  1. Just implementing the look and shape of the Summary bars and Gantt bars as shown in the animated GIF would be nice.
  2. I'm not knowledgeable enough of what the MindMap-like function is to be able to tell you what I'd like to see implemented. I have used MindManager extensively for several years and have played around with Freemind, Freeplane, and Xmind quite a bit. Also, I am familiar with concept mapping apps like Cmaptools and VUE. Will the IQ MindMap-like function work like any of these? For example, will I be able to drag and drop sub-items from one parent to another? Or will the function just be a display only thing? Is there any description of the MindMap-like function anywhere?
Also with respect to the Rich text pane enhancements. Will I be able to select RTF as my choice of format one time, then select Word as my word processor one time, and then just type notes into any item from then on, or will I have to continue to go through the painful HTM to MTH conversion for each item where I want an RTF note. I am ecstatic about being able to use MS Word in IQ as my word processor because of its grammar checker and numerous other features that I frequently use. However, having to go through the HTM to MHT conversion for each item would be too much for me to bare.

Furthermore, for research, I do a lot of image gathering and paste these into my notes, so I need an RTF editor pane. I take screen captures of not only web pages, but screen captures of apps on the desktop too. I don't like using and HTML editor because to paste in an image, I have to stop, convert my screenshot to a jpg, store the jpg, then insert the jpg into and HTM file. My whole train of thought is gone by the time I do that...and it is way too time consuming. However, for creating web pages, that is a way of life and I accept that.

Dave, Just a quick note to tell you that it is Pierre's intention to move from HTML to RTF in the not-too-distant-future. He has the package already picked out.

Jan,

Thanks...that is great news!! Will the HTML editor still be there too? And will I still be able to edit with Word?
