Scenario is that my database wouldnt open.
I hadnt made a backup on program close, so I didnt want to revert to previous backup unless I had no choice.
But I thought I'd try the previous backup to see how it looked/worked.
I renamed my original IQbase.
Then I renamed my backup to my original file name (i.e. I stripped out the date and corrected the extension) and moved it into the same folder as the original.
The newly renamed backup opened fine
I then opened the renamed original, it opened fine.
Then I removed the backup, and reverted the original file to it's original name. It opened fine.
Does that mean that the problem was with the ini file?
Could this have been todo with problems with file being unable to open previous grid?
I know that's reported here somewhere & probably in the manual but didnt know where/how to begin searching. Anyone know where that is?
Would simply deleting the ini file be a possible solution in a case like this?
Just curious at this stage :-)
