Pull down fields

Is there any way to improve the performance when using pull down lists in columns? Using a mouse or touchpad seems to be a hit or miss affair. I frequently need three clicks to activate the drop down list and a fourth to select. This feature does not behave as in other programs where it is easier by far and much more responsive.

Bug(s) with creating new field

Submitted by Jon on 2011/03/24 09:08
This is present in versions L and M.

1. Open Manage Fields
2. Create a new field
3. Observe that the box indicating the presence of code in the field is ticked. This is problem 1. There is no code.
4. I make the field type as text.
5. I want to create a pull down field, so I open Editor.
6. Cannot tick Auto List nor can anything be entered in the box below.
7. Closing and re-opening Manage Fields clears the ticked box under #3 and allows entries in Editor.

I don't know if other areas of Manage Fields are affected too. I don't have the time to thoroughly test.

This is infuriating when one has several new fields to enter. To quote that great American philosopher, Homer Simpson, "I'm not a praying man, but Superman, please help!"

5.2.4 Grid Filter Editbox - cannot delete a filter from the drop down list

Submitted by d bartlett on 2011/03/19 21:43
As per IQ User Manual Item 5.2.4 Grid Filter Editbox instruction:
"To delete a filter in the drop down list : right-click on it and press delete, or just hover your mouse over it to select it an press delete.R"
only the highlighted filter doesn't delete, even after multiple repeated attempts, any suggestions?

Is fast find working in version L?

Submitted by Jon on 2011/03/19 10:56
I don't use this feature a lot, so please bear with me. It successfully locates the words I am searching for but no matter how I want to have them displayed (hoisted, new search grid (whatever that is) search grid_, NOTHING happens. I have checked the search grid without the expected results. I am searching for text in all text fields. Wwhat am I doing wrong?

Gantt in version L

Submitted by Jon on 2011/03/16 15:14
Something funny about the overview.  It does not seem to work as it did in versions prior to L. I have to "play" with it to get it to display the shaded area which you can drag. It does not reliably display the abbreviated bars (the hints in the overview) so you can navigate. Finally, when I was fooling around to try to get it to display correctly, I discovered that double clicking in the overview creates a new item.

FreeMind support (for the small price of real XML export/import)

Submitted by reesd on 2011/03/16 11:58
IMHO, Instead of spending a lot more time on writing and fixing internal map functionality, I would suggest it would better to look at supporting something like FreeMind. Which is way more powerful than anything you want to build into IQ.

You can already copy/paste from IQ to FreeMind using tab-indented outline format. Actually, there seems to be some issue with what IQ puts in the clipboard. I have to paste it into something else and then copy it again to have it work right.

If you were to give us XML export I could whip up a IQ/mmap XSL pretty easily that allows you open directly from FreeMind. If you give us XML import I could even com close to doing round-trip.
