Submitted by Jon on 2009/06/12 09:43
Hi all:

Is the pop up list working in 24C? I have a list, properly delimited (I think), but cannnot get it to drop down. Also, are multiple selections possible (CTRL + Click)?

Thank you.

Copying grids

Submitted by jsolka on 2009/06/12 07:15
I know I've asked that before, but it was a long time ago, and I was hoping that maybe something has changed since.
My IQ is growing, and I'm really thinking about separating some grids into different IQ files (bases). But I'm still afraid to do it, because I know it's easier to separate than to put them back together.

So:
1. I don't use the calendar yet, but would it be a problem when I start doing it to synchronize the calendar with different IQ files?
2. And I remember that to copy a grid from one IQ file (base ) to another wasn't very easy. (I know it's item you copy, but I'd like to be able to copy the way the are displayed, meaning copying grids, too). Has anything changed?

Thanks
Jay

ItemColor Assign Based On Multiple Checkboxes

Submitted by Al on 2009/06/12 02:06
I have 5 Checkbox fields EB, PR, AS, PP & FR.
Condition 1-I would like to turn the ItemColor red if PR is empty and AS or PP or FR are checked (EB does not matter). Can someone help me with an expression to do this?

Condition 2 Advanced version, but not necessary if this is too difficult
Same as above, plus, if any field is checked and all of the preceding fields are not checked ItemColor is assigned blue. Condition 1 has priority.
e.g. EB, PR & PP are checked but AS is not (FR does not matter), ItemColor would be blue.

Unifying the expand buttons and bullets

One thing I like about this community website is the outline under IQ Community (left collapsible menu). Simple and aesthetic. Also, there are 3 icons:
  1. Item closed
  2. Item opened
  3. Item has no subs
I found a way to also have 3 states (currently there are only 2 states) to the expand button / bullets. Here are 2 propositions. Any clear winner?

Moving between open grids - shortcut please

Submitted by markfoley on 2009/06/11 20:21
I see you can bring up grids with Alt+(1-9) though it must be by their ID number or something, because it doesn't reflect their order in the grid panel.  How does that work?  Anyway, so far I don't rely on that function.

My main suggestion is to have Ctrl- Pageup/Pagedown to move left/right through open grids.  This is how excel, firefox, todolist and others work to move between open tabs.

Is this a possibility Pierre?

Thx

Switching grid via menu question

Submitted by KeithB on 2009/06/11 18:24
(A new thread made from Refreshing Two Grids)

When I set up a custom menu for grid switching, and have more than 9 grids open, would it be an easy change to increase the number allowed to more than 9?  (Since Mantis #74 is pretty far out).  Even if it could just show the 17 open grids, I could quickly cursor down to any grid assigned #10 or greater.
This technique better for me than grid keyboard shortcuts - how to assign, since I can't remember which alt key I assigned to which.  Also I really like this for switching back and forth to the calendar, since it takes a lot of real estate in the default configuration.

combined auto assign rules

Current Auto assign for Boolean Pndg field

A:WikiTag=AddKeyWord(WikiTag,"{pndg}")|E:WikiTag=RemoveKeyWord(WikiTag,"{pndg}")

I also want to add
when text contains word 'Lmsg', then Pndg is 'yes'

What's the syntax for this combined w the current statement?

Super clever field assignments - how to

Submitted by markfoley on 2009/06/11 07:31
Could one of the gurus please give me an example of how to use the contents of the item field to drive other fields?  What I want to do is setup some keywords which I'll use on the fly in meetings etc.  I see the examples show something like do X*Y when a field is added, but the below are the 'real life' things I need to setup.

I'll be happy to add this to the docs if someone can attempt an example!

eg:

Basic
FU: Bob regarding cat
--> This should set a followup flag to true.

Funky
FU:7 Bob regarding cat
--> Set followup flag to true
--> Set priority field to '7'
--> BONUS POINTS: Get rid of the '7' once it's been used to set the priority

Get me a scotch
FU:7 DD:6 Bob regarding cat
