jsolka was the first to mention this pretty major problem...

(Major unless one is never aloud  to work with inheritance "ON", or never should have more than the TLIs meeting the source...  ;)

 

There are already mantis issues 213 and 214 :

 

1- Hierarchy problem : sub-item appears both as a sub-item and at top level when its main parent is not displayed in current grid

 

2- Hierarchy is not restored properly when the Parent and Grand-children meet the source/filter, but not the Children

 

Now there's another problem which pretty much invalidates the 2 other ones, maybe.

I have this file :

 

 

Notice the "+" signs at the end, around "test". I use these characters in all my file names to delimit tags. Now, the HTML can't find files with  "+" signs.

 

The error message confirms that (notice the absence of "+" signs :

 

 

This is an other important issue (for me) as I have many links in the ItemHTMLFile field containing the "+" character, and none of these will open...

 

I never noticed that bug before. I guess it's relatively new.

I have noticed that in 0.9.25PreRel18 an href =[ItemHTMLFile] anchor link goes to Scratch pad.  This is different behavior than in 0.9.25PreRel13 where it opens the file in a separate window.  (I opened the same database in both versions to try the same link..)   

 

A search on 'ItemHTMLFile' did not show any recent thread on that keyword.  Has this issue already been discussed? If not, and more information is needed, I can provide it.

I took the time to write some  fairly long "descriptions" in this entry box (description) of the "fields management" dialog, only to discover a few days ago that they were all gone. :(

 

I also discovered why (I think) : when the description is too long, IQ just ignores it (erases it or just keeps the last "shorter" version if there was any).

 

 

So of course this is a question, but it's also a bug -- and will enter it in Mantis if someone can kindly confirm this problem.

 

The user :  1- shouldn't be able to enter more than a certain number of characters, 2- Or be told that the description is too long...

 

( I personally like the idea of being able to enter long descriptions there, as some fields can be used in different context, and this "description" section can help making that clear -- and...

If someone has the time and inclination, would they be so kind as to confirm that an e-mail link in the grid works for them when using Outlook 2007 SP2? 

 

I have two different systems, one using Outlook 2003 and one using Outlook 2007.  Links to Outlook 2003 e-mail messages in the grid work, but, on the other machine, links to Outlook 2007 e-mails do not work (they simply open up the item for editing). 

 When I click on certain fields in a form, the properties pane freezes.

 

If the field has a drop down arrow and I click on that arrow, the properties pane will not register any further clicks until the pane is shut down and reopened.  However, the rest of IQ remains accessible.  When it is a text field with a pop-up box, it doesn't matter if I type in it first or not, a click on the arrow results in a freeze.  With a date field, it will shut down when the arrow is clicked first, but if a partial value is entered, e.g 12/15, the arrow can be clicked on and the mini calendar displays.  The arrows can be clicked on in number fields without problem.

 

Anyone else having issues here?

I know this was / is a problem reported elsewhere but this fix should have some priority IMHO

One of the most useful things I'm finding is the ability to create links in grid

But if you can't find it, what's the use.

Items after moving (by which I mostly mean changing their position in terms of level, but I think also it applies to moving subitems up & down) don't stay, which means that upon refreshing/closing& reopening, etc, they go back to their original position. Tried repair -- didn't work.

PS -- just to make sure -- if I go back to prerel 13 there shouldn't be any problems (I don't use calendar)

 

Update: I tried prerel 13 (prerel 16 behaved like prerel 13)-- changing level worked, the items stayed, but moving them up and down (I'm not talking about top-level items) didn't -- they would go back to their original position.  Is there any quick fix for it, please, big problem for me. BTW sorting by column doesn't seem to work either.

I've been successfully using a great freeware program recently in conjunction with IQ.

 

This program "Stickies" is quite useful for me for jotting down my quick things I want to do in a single IQ session, and avoid filling up the inbox further.

The note is setup to only show when IQ is running, and it minimizes when IQ is minimized.
