Function to "renumber" selected items. (Read on)

While waiting for a more sophisticated numbering feature in IQ, why not just include a feature/function which would renumber selected items using the "Order" field in 2 different ways :

1- Restart numbering : from 1 to Last item in selection
2- Continue numbering : from x to Last item in selection
3- Loop numbering : from x to y
4- Field : [user specified field -- Order would be the default field.]

"x" or "y" are a user defined values.

(since IQ's pasting mode "loops" (or "repastes") the pasted patterned whenever there are selected available, option #3 would be very usefull when renumbering a recurring pattern of items)

How would this work, UI wise ?

1- the feature would be accessible from the item context menu --> renumber.

IQ on a MAC Pro ???

Does anybody have any experience running IQ on a MAC Pro?  I've searched the IQ database and although I understand it can supposedly be done I can't find any recent relevant info in that regard.  Can IQ be loaded directly into the MAC OS, or does it have to be loaded into the Parallels Desktop environment?  If loaded into the Parallels environment, how is the performance - fast or sticky or smooth or clunky - and how is ease of use on the MAC and with other concurrently loaded software?  As I'm seriously considering the switch to MAC Pro, I'd appreciate hearing from anybody with any experience and thoughts to share is this regard.
thanks much
