Is Customise shortcuts broken ? Seems to be missing at any rate...

under
menu: Tools >Keyboard shortcuts >Customise
-
the Keyboard tab (or whatever the shortcuts tab was called) is missing

Same story when I right-click a toolbar button, or the menu

There was work done on this in version O (Version 0.9.25O is now available !) I actually forgot to check that at the time (or since)

You're right, the tab is "missing". I don't remember if this is by design or not though.

But... One thing I know is "by design" is that you can now change shortcuts to anything by just right clicking on a tool while you're in customize mode.

See the menu, which appears when right clicking while in customize mode.

This should be more explicit though...

Thanks Armando -
I didnt know that...

unfortunately I am unable to actually change or add shortcuts here.  I cannot type or paste in the field, even using right-click (I can see cut copy paste but all greyed out).
Can you (anyone) change the assigned shortcut or add a new one?

Here I can type in the text box : Ctrl+C (or whatever), but the problem is that if the shortcut is already used what I typed isn't remembered.
However I was able to type Ctrl+Shift+E in the "auto-edit" menu option

(1- Right click on any toolbar -> Customize. 2- click on Edit meny, 3- Right click Auto-Edit and type the new shortcut key )

I don't have the time to do more tests at the moment.  I guess that this is a somewhat unfinished feature ?

You also seem to have to hit enter after you put in the key.

Pierre, please bring back the keyboard tab. This new way is very painful and less useful (no warning on duplicates). You can keep it, just give us the tab also (which is what I will use).

In the meantime I have linked to here in the wiki Keyboard Shortcuts.

Thanks,
dave

Well... I think it's just painful because it's unfinished. However, it can make it easier when you want to quickly change a shortcut without having to go through lists : you know exactly where the command is and then change the shortcut.

The reason why the keyboard tab was hidden was that I don't have much control on it and it turns out that some menu items are not displayed.

So in v0.9.25U, I'll show it again, in waiting for a better implementation of the new method.

Yes both, but keep in mind that some commands don't appear in the keyboard tab, only by right-clicking on the command and entering the shortcut

Cool.

So in the mean time, when working with the "new way", to know if a shortcut is already used is  one needs to look at the shortcut list in Tools->Keyboard Shortcuts->View all shortcuts (and maybe do a search).

For the record:
A clean install works here so I guess I'll scrap my usual install & start again.
I did have problems with it before - losing custom shortcuts - when others had no problems. Dunno if that related...
