I've run into my first serious problem. I just lost a chunk of work I'd completed in the HTML pane. This is what happened.
1) I was taking notes in the HTML pane using bulleted lists. I found a table in a pdf that I wanted to incorporate into my notes.
2) I did a screen capture of the table, and copy/pasted it into the HTML pane as a bullet item.
3) I tried to re-size the table by grabbing one of the handles on the image but InfoQube would not let me re-size it (I'll post the image problem as a separate issue).
4) I created a new "test" item and pasted the image there just to see if I'd have any better luck with it, but it wouldn't re-size in the new HTML pane, either.
5) I decided to re-start InfoQube to see if that would help. I'm pretty sure I saved the file before closing IQ but I believe IQ is supposed to do an automatic save on closing.
6) I re-started InfoQube. The test item I'd created was missing. In addition, the notes I'd taken over the past half hour were gone from the HTML pane. These were the notes where I'd pasted the image.
7) I tried to retrieve my notes using the backup file. I didn't really know what I was doing but I renamed the backup file names to ",SNDB" so they could be opened.
8) None of the backup files had my lost work. Interestingly, one of them did have the test item which was created after the missing notes, but the notes themselves were still gone.
9) I've confirmed that the notes are gone by doing searches for words that were in the notes.
This is going to be another one of those problems that can't be re-created. I can't help but think it had something to do with pasting the image into my notes, especially since that's a new feature.
Any suggestions on how to retrieve my lost notes would be appreciated but it's probably going to be easier to just re-type them.
Thanks, Wayne
